The Atlas Building is located on Quarrier Street in The Downtown Charleston Historic District and was was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. The Atlas Building, which was opened in 1941, was designed by Charleston-based Tucker and Silling and at the time was considered the most elaborate and up-to-date public building in Charleston.
