Logan House - Beverly, WV
The Logan House property has been in West Virginia's Historical Record since first being mentioned in deeds from 1817. This homestead also became a confederate hospital after the first land battle at Philippi, WV. The house became the site of the first amputation behind confederate lines. Future WV Governor H.G. Kump also lived in this house in the 1920s.
The Viking Group has been retained to provide much needed preservation and stabilization to the building. A catastrophic fire in the 1980's damaged much of the structure and it has sat vacant ever since. The team is providing select demolition and repair of burned timbers, reframing the entire roofing system, cataloguing the masonry in the chimneys for future repair, and repairing the metal roof.
